Long-time Rogue Valley musician, Jeffery Jones, will perform a concert to celebrate the release of his solo CD “Way Beyond the Blue” on Saturday, March 26th at 6p.m. to 8p.m. at Belle Fiore Winery, 955 Dead Indian Memorial Road just outside of Ashland. There is no cover charge for the concert, but you are encouraged to make reservations to get a table.
Jeffery Jones is known as founding member and mandolin player for the groups Foxfire and Siskiyou Summit. He has written and recorded 12 original songs for the CD which are a wide variety of styles from serious and melancholy to silly and fun. Jeffery will be joined at this concert by his son, Julian, playing bass, well-known fiddler, Crystal Reeves, and Glenn Freese on hammered dulcimer. Both Reeves and Freese are members of Siskiyou Summit and Julian plays fiddle with his band The John Dough Boys. “I’ve been a member of bands nearly my entire adult life and I’m so excited to finally have produced a solo CD!”, says Jones. Jones has recorded seven CDs with Foxfire and Siskiyou Summit that included many of his original compositions.
Songs on the “Way Beyond the Blue” include “Side Effects” a comical look at the drugs advertised on television, the haunting title cut “Way Beyond the Blue”, “In the Valley of the Rogue”, a tribute to our beautiful valley, “Birthdays Suck” an honest alternative birthday song, “Bleecker Hill” a spooky story of a full moon night in the Adirondack Mountains where Jones grew to name a few. The CD can be purchased from iTunes, CDBaby, Music Coop, at JefferyJonesMusic.com or at the concert.
At the CD Release concert Jones will perform all the songs from the CD plus other original songs with the help of Julian, Crystal and Glenn.
