Live Music – Kat Man D
March 17, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Celebrate St. Patricks Day!
This is a musical evening with Kat Man D, starting off with a journey through traditional Irish folk tunes, rich in emotions, a tapestry of sailing ships, lost celtic loves, and energizing irish melodies. Then, dust off wonderful train songs of an era gone by, songs made famous by the greats Jimmie Rodgers, Roy Acuff, and Boxcar Willie. And remember the wide open ranges of the wild west when cowboys roamed like tumbling tumbleweeds, as Gene Autry and Roy Rogers played guitar high in the saddle of their trusty companions. Come early and enjoy a very interesting float through history, Irish and American, with Kat Man D.
Born in the namesake town of one of Johnny Cash’s catchiest tunes, Jackson, Kat Man D brings humor and hospitality from the deep southern states of Mississippi and Louisiana. The Kat sports an eclectic song list best described as organic and toe tapping with extra grits and gravy, including offerings of traditional mountain music and train ballads, Jimmie Rodgers, Roy Acuff, & Carter Family, together with pleasing renditions of country classics by Cash, Haggard, Hank, and George Jones. D’s own original songwriting approach is a tasty bit more of an Americana ‘Neil Young’ style.
