Heather Nenow – Winemaker

Our winemaker, Heather Nenow, has been making wine for 20 years and comes to us from Columbia Winery in Washington State. Ms. Nenow has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Humboldt State University in Arcata, California, and went through the Master’s program in Viticulture and Enology at University of California, Davis. She started her career with internships in Italy, Chile and Napa and working as an enologist at Gundlach Bundschu Winery in Sonoma.

Her love for the mountains led her to the Sierra Nevada foothills, a region with diverse microclimates very similar to Southern Oregon. Later, Heather worked in Lodi, California working at a much larger scale winery. Most recently, Heather had headed up the boutique winemaking operations at Columbia Winery where she and her team made some 12-16 different ultra-premium wines (approximately 12,000 cases per year) for the Columbia Winery Tasting Room in Woodinville and its Wine Club Members.

Heather is a talented and highly experienced winemaker and joined our team in August 2016.

William Hoftiezer – Assistant Winemaker/Cellar Supervisor

William Hoftiezer was born and raised in Two Rivers, Wisconsin until he decided to head west for college. Landing at UC Davis, it was there he discovered his love for the wine industry. After declaring Viticulture and Enology his focus, William interned at Schramsberg Vineyard and Winery in St. Helena, CA, where he learned about sparkling wine and graduated with a B.S. in both winemaking and grapegrowing along with a minor in Managerial Economics. After receiving his education William worked as an intern at Cain Vineyard and Winery, which allowed him to learn Spanish and complete the practical side of his education by learning both viticulture and enology from the ground up. After 2 years with Cain, William moved to Southern Oregon where he became the Assistant Winemaker at Wooldridge Creek Winery. After 3.5 years with Wooldridge, William transferred, and has been with Belle Fiore Winery since April of 2014. He lives in Jacksonville with his 2 year old yellow lab, Coyote.

Michelle Lake – Director of Operations

Michelle has been with Belle Fiore since the beginning in 2013. She was born and raised in the small town of Burns, OR and later graduated from Western Oregon University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Business. She moved to Medford with her husband, Tyler. Having moved to Southern Oregon after college she quickly fell in love with everything it had to offer. The landscape, the people and of course the wine.

When Michelle is not at the winery she enjoys fitness, the outdoors with their labs, and wine tasting around the valley.

Alexandra Hannah – Director of Hospitality

Alexandra Hannah has a consuming passion for detail, presentation, and above all… taste. As a chef, caterer, and event coordinator in Southern California for the past thirty years, Alexandra now calls Southern Oregon home. Alexandra has catered hundreds of parties for private clients, corporations (including the City of Ashland Hope, Anheuser Busch, USC, UCLA, Lawry’s, Lipton, and Disney Imagineering) as well as many A-list celebrities and world-class entertainers. She owned her own catering company and restaurant (Thyme and Place Café) in Monrovia and has developed a line of 45 sauces, relishes, condiments and vinaigrettes to be marked in the near future.

Shannon Westmoreland – Events Manager

Shannon was born and raised in the very small town of Anderson, California. She moved to Ashland Oregon 6 years ago after receiving a scholarship to Southern Oregon University, and started working for Lithia Motors where she planned events part time for numerous charity fundraisers as well as social events. After realizing that event planning was her passion she quickly knew she wanted to make it into a full time career.

When Shannon is not at the winery she loves to travel around the world and also enjoys taking advantage of the great outdoors Southern Oregon has to offer.
